Don’t Build Your Website Until You Can Answer These Questions…

The stories I could tell you about things I’ve seen when working on websites would probably make you want to cry, or laugh, or just eyes roll back in your head.

There was the case where the e-commerce was set to the entirely wrong currency. That client had spent $7500 on a website that would never function as intended. The list of problems went on and on, but you get the idea.

I’ve seen so many cases where the client is missing half of their pages.

No SEO of any kind was done.

And when I’m talking about No SEO- I mean that work was done on the site that actively works against your SEO, like multiple H1 tags, or basic formatting errors, because the person who built the site had 0 clues. It looks pretty- but ultimately, your sitemap will be screwed up.

Add in not having basics like a plugin for Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or even a basic (free) plugin for SEO, and you’ve got a potential mess on your hands.

I’ve seen websites that were done in the last couple of years that sucked for mobile optimization. I don’t know about you- but in a world where a huge percentage of traffic- like 80% — tends to be mobile, not being mobile optimized is a huge red flag to me.
